Democrats Finally Do The Right Thing
But is it too late to prevent the GOP from winning in November?
Despite the Democrats having a majority in Congress and controlling the White House, the utterly feckless political party has entirely failed to deliver on anything, except for perhaps the liberalising of toilet signs. From a policy perceptive, Dems have delivered absolutely zero regarding voting rights, criminal justice reform, combatting climate change, mitigating student loan debt, and offering public healthcare. Furthermore, nothing has been done to create a permanent child tax credit, universal pre-k, and federally paid maternity leave. Also, there has been no minimum wage increase.
The nail in the coffin seemed to come two weeks ago after negotiations stalled again over “Build Back Better,” the primary holdout again being Senator Joe Manchin, the swing vote from West Virginia.
As a result of sheer ineptitude displayed by the Democrats, the polls have swung heavily in the direction of the GOP, who are currently poised to politically slaughter the Dems during the midterm elections.
Suddenly, and very unexpectedly, it was announced today that Democrats have miraculously found a way to pass legislation they have dubbed the “Inflation Reduction Act of 2022,” which focuses on energy, healthcare, and taxes. Joe Biden has already formally declared that he will sign it into law should it make it to his desk.
The new bill is the result of a deal between New York Senator Chuck Schumer, and West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin, who has been accused repeatedly of obstructing the Biden agenda for political gain.
